Final Essay

             I still remember beginnig of the September like it was yesterday. I was so afraid of college. Especially of English class because I'm international student and last year I was still ESL student at High School. I thought I will not pass this class because of reading and writing about literature. I was scared I will not understand anything. After one month I started to feel more comfortable with those all assignments and homeworks we had to do. Introduction to blogs was for me a big suprise but in the same time a great idea. Now we have time where technology is so developed and teachers already use it for their lectures so why we students cannot use computers for more then only typing homeworks?
             At class we had to do a lot of blog entries with ours essays and research papers about world of Supernaturals.Those are faries, angels, ghosts, creatures etc. I wasn't maybe the happiest person when I heard about it. However I started feel better when I found out that we are going to do some psychology aspects. We learnt about archetypes and those lessons I enjoyed the most. And the movie "Spirited Away" was so wonderful. I have never been a fan of manga and those kind of things but this film just amazed me. I have never seen any cuter movie like that. That  was also helpful to see how archetypes of one person can change during different situation. From innocent and altruist you can chnage to warrior and opposite. Then we could test ourselveson that knowledge when we were talking about book "Coraline" which I really enjoyed reading too. That book was so different from all books I read so far however it was nice experience.
             From all blogs I really enjoy to visit Barbara's blog. I 'm not really sure If she is a student of  my Profesor because I can't find her on the list but once our Profesor recommend one of her post. I went there  and I really liked it. After reading some of her posts I think she is really smart, and has a gift for writing. Everything she is doing or writing is so creative and fresh and she find other way to look up on things or issues. I am so impressed.
              I don't regret I took this course. I will say one again that I really enjoyed that time. I will definately recommend everybody to take this class with my Profesor. He is so funny and he can bakes cookies by himself haha. I learnt a lot about things about nobody really could tell me in life. I am little sad that semester is over and everything it's finished.

4.2 ( 3.5) Coraline essay

When we meet new people we usually first judge them by look. If they seem  nice or interesting we are pretty excited to meet them. If they look sad or different from general moral rules we rather stay away. Judging anybody just after how he/she looks or even after first impression is not a good way because people are more than face and outfit. They can look weird but in the same time they can be the best match for you as a friend and even as a partner. We should always look for what is inside, willing to “meet” their character and what is common with character we can know their archetype. Knowing particular archetype we can understand person better. We will know why person behave in that and not different way. Also what can we expected after that person, what is she/he able to do for us, for others, how she/he treats other people etc. It’s very helpful to be even better friend.

According to psychologist Dr. Carol Pearson and her Personal Archetypal System which consists 12 archetypes I am Explorer. Going deeper explorer archetype has subtypes which are more specific. From four subtypes my one is a wanderer/seeker. In general I like to explore on my own. I like to discover places which nobody else is going to do. I am a little loner trying to do everything in my ways sometimes against everybody else. I am independent, I don’t need to other people approve what I’m doing or what I want to do. I will do it anyway somehow. Not rarely I’m taking risk with decisions about my life. If I have a problem I always try to find solution which is the best according to me (meaning for me). I like to thinking about psychology side of human being. This let me know myself better. Sometimes its just wasting time about thinking so much. I wish I could be more spontaneous, to just live present day. Also I isolate little from society. I am not so much willing to meet new people. They usually have to start conversation with me if they want to know me.

One of the most famous book of British writer Neil Gaiman is “Coraline”. Title is also a name of the main character. She is small girl and she experience big adventure  just after moved to new house with her parents. On the beginning of the story we can see that Coraline even she is a child she is pretty brave girl wants to explore new places. Its seems like she is already explorer archetype but in her is still child so also orphan archetype. When she moved it was still summer and still couple of days till go to school. Coraline was bored. Even she did all things which her parents proposed her she was still feeling bored. She met  her neighbours Miss Spink and Miss Forcible and this old man with rats. They paid attention but not for so long. After a while she discovered secret door in drawing room. She bothered her mom that long that she went there with her daughter and unlock the door using very old key she found in the kitchen. Mrs. Jones showed her that nothing is there but Coraline knew it’s not true. In next day she visited their neighbours who warned her to not go to this door because all she will meet is trouble. Bored Coraline did not listen. After her mother went to shopping she came to drawing room and decided to see what wait for her after the door. She went there and journey started. Where I see in Coraline explorer archetype? Almost everywhere. For example when she for the first time on the other side of the other world she wanted see everything from inside to outside. We can see that in Chapter 3 after she explored all room inside and visit her the other old man with rats she told him “I’m going outside to explore”. But real adventure started in  Chapter 4 when she met talking cat. He was kind of guide in this world for her. Then she visited the other neighbour Miss Forcible and Miss Spink. However the flat was empty but finally she found them in one of the room which looked like stage. Then they forced Coraline to performed on the stage. “The little dog next to Coraline nudged her with it’s front paw(...)Coraline stood up, and walked up the wooden steps to the stage(...)She led Coraline over to a board by the side of the stage, and put a balloon on top of Coraline’s head”. Other example is when she was in real world she went to drawing room ans see that in the mirror are her missing parents. They couldn’t say anything but she saw that they were very unhappy (chapter 5) “In the mirror Coraline’s mother and father stared at her. Her father opened his mouth and said something, but she could hear nothing at all. Her mother breathed on the inside of the mirror glass, and quickly, before the fog faded, she wrote HELP US with the tip of her forefinger”. After that she came back to the other world, she wanted to find out where her parents are, why the other mother kidnapped them?, how she can save them and come back with them to the real world forever?

4.1 Progress with final project

            I didn't write for long time because I was working on my final project. I didn't come to the class last time  because I felt like I can do the same things at home and it's more comfortable for me.  My project wasn't maybe too hard and it's little different then I originaly planned. I didn't do travel agency offer, I just did simply video about Utopia...pictures, music, little information. My work on project in steps:

1) Research what is Utopia according to sources like wikipedia
2) Choosing pictures
3) Putting everything together in mind....then in Windows Movie Maker

            I had some troubles with last step because even I put everything together after all I see still many mistakes like texts is cut....but I didn't have time to fix it so I will ask Prof to give me more time till next week. I need that time to prepare also short speech to present my project in front of class. I will not hide that this is the worse step for me. I hate public speaking.
I hope Prof. will understaand and give me extended time.

Final Project

Like I posted before I stay with the same idea. I want to make a youtube video or slide of offert of travel agency to the Perfect Happy Land called Utopia.

3.3 Ideas for final projects

           So far I have only one idea for final project. It's idea of create Utiopia. Utiopia it's something like happy land. It's a place where everything is perfect. No problems at all. No one is suffering, crying, dying, being sick. It's just perfect world for everybody. It's maybe something like heaven but on the earth and with other rules. I thought about to create travel agency who is one in the world who offer that kind of trip. The trick is that nobody knows where this place is except the agency and only the agency will picked up people from millions offer to go there. This trip is not for everybody, is only for picked people. Everything depends if you are good person or bad and what did u've done for others and for those who are very hurted by life it will be a  good prize.

3.1 Mackbeth Image

             This is one of the "Fifty Great Illustrations of the 20th Century" presented by National Society of Illustrators in 2003. This collection include works of the biggest artist inter alia author of this image Jone Jude Palencar and what suprise me he is really popular in the U.S and Europe. He created illustrations for the most famous book like couple covers of Stephen King and also in 2003 for Eragon. Even a lot of private and corporate collections use his illustrations.
             I chose this illustration because it fits to the theme of the lesson and contain symbols. It's pretty scary but in other hand intresting. When we first see this art  we first pay attention for this face. It's like evil face or dead face. Anyway it's remind us something very bad. This is the face of Macbeth. This i a face of morderer. He wanted power so much that he could even kill to just achieve his goal. He took lives of innocent people. Those who didn't do anything. Those who in according to Macbeth were able to have more power of those who knew too much. He even killl his best friends Banco. Other symbol in this pic is crown. Crown means power,king, commands, wealth, decisions. He wanted it all. After meeting with witches and knowing the future he became so selfish and bad. He wanted to eliminate all of those who can possibly take his place. We can see that on the crown is something more. Those are small bodies of his victims. The are put on the crown because that means that he had to eliminate them to be a king or this is the price of this power. His jacket or whatever he wear symbolise that no matter what he was a human. He was a person who act like he is an evil who cause death of innocent people.
